Big Kids Percussion Workshop
This hands on class is for school aged children, who love musical games, creating songs, playing percussion, and having an absolute ball, while their brain works hard!
Class time: Sundays at 9:30am
Session duration: 50 minutes
Term 2 2024: Weekly sessions from Sunday 21 April to 23 June
Please note there will be no class on Sunday 9 June
Location: Making Waves 4/4 Torca Terrace, Mornington
Parking: On-street or at Aerial Divas in Torca Terrace. Please do not park in the neighbouring factory’s designated parking spots.
All children require their own set of chime bars to participate and practice at home. Please select your booking with or without chime bars.
At Sounds Like This we pride ourselves on working with the children as they are.
These workshops are lessons in musicianship and teamwork, deepening your child’s rhythmic learning through singing, movement games and percussion play. Children will also begin to read and write musical notation. While collaborating, taking turns, arranging pieces, and performing independently and as part of the group.
Part music lesson. Part social learning. ALL fun.
Big Kids Percussion sessions are for children aged 7-10 years old (unaccompanied) who have shown a deeper interest in music.
These sessions are for kids who are tuneful and artful and who know when to take turns. During these sessions your child will have a greater say in the music making process.
Our percussion-based jamming isn’t just about building their musicality. It’s about social and dynamic learning and confidence building. Most importantly, it’s about FUN.
Sounds Like This provides neurologically informed, hands-on and inclusive music making education for children. Our whole person approach to learning starts when they are very little to set them and their grown-up up for a lifetime of positive learning.
These classes are limited to a maximum of 10 children, so they'll never feel lost in a crowd.
Please note: All children require their own set of Angel Chime Bars to participate during the class and to practice with at home. Please select YES or NO to adding chime bars to your order.
